The 4th of February marks World Cancer Day! Each year, approximately 100,000 European workers lose their lives to cancer, making it the leading cause of death. The main factor behind this grim statistic is exposure to cancer-causing agents. To put an end to this, it is crucial to prevent workers from coming into contact with hazardous substances. STOP keeps you safe.

Het toonaangevende medische tijdschrift The Lancet is deze maand gestart met een Work and Health series: Work and Health (thelancet.com). Zo laat The Lancet zien welke grote impact goed werk heeft op de gezondheid van de vele werkenden wereldwijd. Ook meerdere toonaangevende Nederlandse onderzoekers dragen daar aan bij.

De afgelopen maanden heeft het NCvB op de website van het Kennissysteem Infectieziekten en Arbeid een groot aantal geactualiseerde en nieuwe Bio-ArbeidsHygiënische (BAH) kaarten geplaatst. In totaal telt de site nu kaarten voor 49 infectieziekten.
